Director of Texas facility dies in accident
Former National Football League (NFL) star Isaiah Robertson, whose personal battle with substances eventually led him to establish a faith-based treatment center in Texas, was killed in a Dec. 6 automobile accident.
Robertson, 69, founded and served as executive director of the House of Isaiah in Mabank, a community located about 55 miles southeast of Dallas. The facility offers faith-based treatment services to young men, and is funded largely by churches and corporations.
According to news reports, the limousine that Robertson was driving on Dec. 6 skidded on a rain-slicked road in Mabank and collided with two other vehicles.
Robertson had an illustrious career as a linebacker with the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills, having been elected to the Pro Bowl six times in the 1970s while playing for Los Angeles.
