Sierra Tucson Chief Medical Officer Adds Same Title at Sonora Behavioral Health
Aaron Wilson, MD, has been named chief medical officer of Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital, an Acadia Healthcare facility in Arizona that provides acute psychiatric care for children and adults. Wilson came to Acadia in March 2018 as chief medical officer for another of its Arizona properties, Sierra Tucson. He will continue in that position in addition to taking on responsibilities at Sonora.
Wilson’s role with Sonora will entail focusing on quality of care, medical team relations, the patient experience and growth, the company said in a news release announcing Wilson’s appointment.
Prior to joining Sierra Tucson, Wilson held the title of medical director at Archways Recovery Centers in Mesa, Arizona, and Valley Hospital, a private psychiatric hospital in Phoenix. He is also chairman of the Arizona Disaster Psychiatry Task Force, past president of the Arizona Psychiatric Society, and co-founder of the Arizona Inter-Professional Behavioral Health Collaborative.
