New Rosecrance IOP to serve teens in Northbrook
The Rosecrance location in Northbrook, Ill. will provide teens in the North Shore with more resources and opportunities for recovery with a new intensive outpatient program (IOP) beginning on Jan. 6, 2014. The program allows teens struggling with substance abuse issues to focus on recovery while staying in their home environment.
Chris Yadron, Rosecrance Director of Chicago-Based Services, said the IOP for teens also provides education and support for their families. This combination of care sets out to help the family unit learn and grow together during treatment and sets the stage for the teen to sustain recovery afterward.
“These programs have been successful in other communities, and we are delighted to bring additional services to the Rosecrance Northbrook office,” Yadron said. “These are critical times for teens in the Chicago area, and this is a way for those with substance use disorders to get the professional help they need, with family support, while they remain at home and continue a regular school schedule.”
Topics discussed in the program include: the disease of addiction and its impact on individuals and their families; the effects of drugs on your body; trauma and its association with substance use; alternative recreational activities; anger management; and relapse prevention.
