Kevin Wandler, MD, appointed iaedp 2015 president elect

Kevin Wandler, M.D., medical director of Remuda Ranch at The Meadows, a treatment center which specializes in eating and co-occurring disorders for women and girls, has been appointed 2015 president elect of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals Foundation (iaedp).

Established in 1985, iaedp provides education and high-level training standards to an international multidisciplinary group of various healthcare treatment providers and helping professions, who treat the full spectrum of eating disorder problems.

Wandler’s appointment came during the iaedp 28th Annual Symposium, February 26-March 2 in St. Pete Beach, Florida where many of the nation’s top eating disorder professionals gathered. Wandler will assume the role as president of iaedp on January 1, 2015.

“I am deeply honored that the iaedp board elected me to be president elect of iaedp,” Wandler said. “I am humbly looking forward to serving as president of iaedp in January for the following two years. I believe in the organization, and with my many years working at Remuda Ranch, I feel I have much to offer the organization.”

Wandler has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of prevention and treatment of addiction and eating disorders, and he has especially focused on co-occurring disorders. He is board certified in General Psychiatry with added qualifications in Addiction Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a fellow of iaedp, the American Psychiatric Association and is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. In addition, he is a certified eating disorder specialist in mental health (CEDS) by the International Academy of Eating Disorder Professionals.
