Guide seeks to help clinicians sort through messages on marijuana
A new multimedia package featuring 10-minute videos and online materials is designed to assist addiction clinicians in offering sound treatment amid the changing national conversation about marijuana.
The Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC) Network Coordinating Office on Jan. 29 announced the “Marijuana Lit: Fact Based Information to Assist You in Providing SUD Services” series with the release of a video called “Marijuana's Effects on the Body.” Upcoming products will address topics such as issues around youths and families, and medical marijuana and legalization.
“States' discussions about legalizing marijuana are generating media attention and conflicting messages—making it hard for busy treatment providers to distinguish marijuana fact from fiction,” a news release from the ATTC Network states.
The network adds that treatment providers can extend the discussion on this topic by joining the “Ask the Expert” discussion forum on marijuana, which can be accessed via the ATTC/NIATx Network of Practice.
