Fortune 100 company tests measurement tool for EAP services
A newly published article describes the first-ever application of a new measurement tool designed to improve the evaluation of workplaces' employee assistance program (EAP) services.
Available on the website of Illinois-based Chestnut Global Partners, the article describes Caterpillar Inc.'s use of the Workplace Outcome Suite, a validated measurement tool that assists in gauging the impact of EAP services on work-related outcomes. A Feb. 23 news release from Chestnut Global Partners states, “Historically, the employee assistance field has measured 'effectiveness' by reporting on basic metrics (such as utilization rates) and 'feel good' assessments (such as positive anecdotes or testimonials). But most human resources and benefits purchasers agree that these measures alone are inadequate and that [employee assistance] providers need to credibly demonstrate how their interventions affect the workplace.”
Caterpillar, a Fortune 100 company, is the first corporation to assess the impact of its EAP service using the Workplace Outcome Suite.
