Elements extends services for substance abuse and intimacy disorders
Elements Behavioral Health this week is building on its specialized services in Substance Abuse and Intimacy Disorders (SAID) by opening a new program for women at its Right Step facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Robert Weiss, LCSW, CSAT-S, the sexual addictions expert who designed similar clinical programs at Elements facilities such as Promises Malibu and The Ranch, is overseeing the new program at Right Step. Female senior master's-level clinicians will assist clients in establishing individualized treatment plans that incorporate components such as interactive educational sessions on trauma, relationships and intimacy; sessions of yoga, body awareness and mindfulness meditation; and 12-Step involvement.
Weiss said in a news release, "Increasingly, the research bears out that substance abuse in women often stems from lifelong patterns of disturbed sexual, relationship and intimacy concerns."
He added about the program, "The goal is for our clients to celebrate their lives by embracing joy, connection and emotional fulfillment, not just eliminating the use of alcohol or other drugs."
