ECHO Institute Leader Hired at Boston Medical Center
Boston Medical Center has announced that Miriam Komaromy, MD, has been named medical director of its Grayken Center for Addiction. A leading clinical educator in addiction medicine, Komaromy will be involved in initiatives ranging from continued expansion of Boston Medical Center's addiction services to advancing quality of care in the addiction field at large.
Komaromy formerly led the Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) Institute's programs in addiction and psychiatry. She recently partnered with Boston Medical Center faculty to launch an ECHO hub to educate health professionals on the treatment of opioid use disorder.
A former professor of internal medicine at the University of New Mexico, Komaromy has focused on health disparities and treatment of underserved populations in her research.
