Eating disorder expert joins leadership team at The Moore Center
The Moore Center (Bellevue, Wash.), a treatment organization that offers comprehensive outpatient treatment to adults and adolescents suffering from anorexia, bulimia, EDNOS and binge eating disorder, recently announced that Lisa Geraud, LMFT, RD has joined its clinical leadership team.
In her newly appointed position of senior clinical director, Geraud will oversee the delivery of all clinical services in the Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs, including nutritional and nursing support. She will also provide guidance and supervision to the multidisciplinary treatment team of therapists, Registered Dietitians and Registered Nurses. Geraud will play an instrumental role in the development and oversight of Eating Recovery Center of Washington, a Residential treatment program that seeks to expand access to specialized 24-hour eating disorders care for patients and families in the Pacific Northwest. Slated to begin accepting patients in April 2014, Eating Recovery Center of Washington underscores the collaborative relationship between Eating Recovery Center and The Moore Center.
"Lisa Geraud brings extensive expertise and insight in the treatment of eating disorders to The Moore Center's clinical leadership team," says Mehri Moore, MD, founder and Medical Director of The Moore Center. "This experience in both nutrition and mental health will help ensure excellence in the delivery of clinical care to our patients and families, and will provide superior supervision and mentoring of our dedicated clinicians."
A licensed marriage and family therapist and Registered Dietitian, Lisa Geraud brings over 26 years of specific eating disorders treatment experience in research, hospital, clinic, agency and private practice settings to her role at The Moore Center. Her work with individuals affected by eating disorders began in 1987 with intensive training in research and multidisciplinary care at the University of Washington. She founded the Puget Sound Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp) in 2009, served as the first President and recruited a Board of Directors.
Additionally, Geraud is devoted to ongoing training for mental health and eating disorder treatment. She has special interest in family-focused treatments (FBT and multifamily therapy), cognitive behavior therapies (ACT, DBT, CRT, RO-DBT), temperament and parenting. Her work with families is informed by structural therapy, developmental psychology and attachment theory.
"Collectively, I have admired the work of the founding professionals of The Moore Center and Eating Recovery Center for many years, and having the opportunity to join The Moore Center's clinical leadership team and be a part of the Eating Recovery Center family of programs is very exciting," explains Geraud. "My role at The Moore Center allows me to work alongside and learn from visionary experts in the field who are devoted to providing state of the art eating disorders treatment, and enables me to supervise, teach and mentor clinicians devoted to excellent care of clients and families experiencing eating disorders."
