Texting resource available for parents of drug-affected children
Professionals seeking to refer parents of opioid-using children to informational resources can make them aware of a new mobile messaging initiative established by the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids.
Help & Hope by Text allows parents to sign up for supportive information, customized to the specific circumstances facing their family. The online landing page for the service states that parents can “learn evidence-based skills and strategies to help you better communicate with your child struggling with opioids and motivate them to get the help they need.”
Other newly launched resources from the Partnership include an e-book for parents and caregivers on heroin, fentanyl and other opioids, and a video series to help parents identify signs of intravenous drug use.
