Leader in Dual-Diagnosis Care Will Close Florida Facility
WestBridge, a national leader in integrated treatment for patients with co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders, has announced that it is closing its program in Brooksville, Fla., and will cease operations there by early October.
WestBridge opened its Florida facility in 2012 in a home-like setting similar to its flagship facility for men in Manchester, N.H. The organization had struggled over the years to maintain a consistent census at the Florida site, which was licensed for 20 beds.
Company CEO Steven M. Berry said in a statement this month that WestBridge made its decision to close the Brooksville facility “after careful consideration of emerging trends and evaluating how to best serve our population.” Berry added, “The closure will provide us more time and resources to focus on clinical and organizational excellence.”
According to the statement, WestBridge is working with the individuals and families receiving treatment in Florida to transfer treatment to its New Hampshire location or another suitable facility.
WestBridge, established in 2001, has become a pioneer in the care of men with addiction and serious mental health issues under one roof in a concurrent treatment model with one treatment team. It also has exhibited national leadership in the use of person-centered language, such as in its use of the term “participant” rather than “patient” or “client” to describe the individuals it serves.
