IC&RC changes case study portion of counselor exam
As of Feb. 1, the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) will be replacing on its Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC) examination a long case study that includes 13 questions. The case overview of a hypothetical patient will be replaced with several considerably smaller vignettes with three to five associated questions each.
The lengthy case presentation had been in place since 2008. Those individuals scheduled for an exam on or after Feb. 1 will take the exam that includes the smaller vignettes. IC&RC stated in an announcement this month that the change will not affect the overall scoring of the examinations.
The international credentialing organization offers information about the ADC credential and examination on its website.
